Letter from the Chapter
Dear Potential New Members,
My name is Mia Millard and I am the Vice President of Membership for Sigma Kappa - Epsilon Mu at the University of Missouri. My sisters and I invite you to register for Mizzou’s PHA Formal Recruitment this August. We are SO excited to meet you and can’t wait to show you what it really means to be a Sigma Kappa sister.
Recruitment may seem intimidating, but I promise you, it is just the beginning of an amazing new chapter in your life. At the start of college, I didn’t really know how these next four years of my life would go, but when I went through Formal Recruitment and received a bid from Sigma Kappa, I knew that this was where I was meant to be. But, little did I know, it was one of the best decisions I would ever make. When I enter our house on 908 Curtis Avenue, I feel loved, supported, and most of all, I feel like I can be myself. I know I have amazing women all around me who can laugh with me on the good days and cheer me up on the harder ones. I am surrounded by women who encourage me to be the best version of myself every single day.
My sisters have not only become my closest friends, but have shaped me into the person I am today. I am constantly inspired by their kindness, generosity, intelligence, and determination. I have found my home away from home, my best friends, and my role models - and I hope your recruitment process will be just as fulfilling as mine. Be yourself, be fearless, and don’t worry about the rest.
Sigma Kappa sisters can be found just about anywhere on campus. Whether it be studying at the library, playing sports on an intramural team, promoting a campus organization, or volunteering at a service event. We are proud to be involved in many different organizations and to support our community! Sigma Kappa provides many leadership roles and can help you become a leader on and off campus.
During Recruitment 2019, you will have the opportunity to join something much greater than yourself and find your home away from home. We hope to see you soon!
